This is the second year running i have worked with Critical Path on their annual program. Same tight production budget and same desire to create a piece of communication that clearly outlines the year ahead in a refined and expressive publication.

Publication and invite designed for the Anne Landa Award exhibition 2011. Working closely with the curator, Justin Paton, i worked on laying out the essays and plates in a publication that reflects the new media and experimental values of the exhibition. The book was produced in 5 colours, with UV Varnish on the cover and a high reflective metallic foil on the inside cover. The title typography was typeset in reverse, so when reflected by the inside cover, became readable. This was a concept devised and informed from a specific featured artwork which utilised reflective mirrors.

“Critical Path is a choreographic research and development centre for dance artists”.

This was the first project completed for the cultural organisation. The A5 booklet formed the program schedule for 2011, showcasing the calendar of events and performers for the year ahead. Working with a tight production budget, a 2 colour print job was devised that utilised a creative use of overprinting to create a dynamic and refined layout across at 48 pages.

Invitation design for the Contemporary Collection Benefactors end of year celebration. The design was informed by the location of the event, which was taking place in what was the construction site of the new contemporary gallery space. The production used a fluorescent ink and a highly reflective UV Varnish, playing on the idea of high-vis workwear.

Invitation mailer package designed to invite guests to a celebration of the First Emperor exhibition. The design featured a 5 colour print job + gold foil, with a gold printed, black envelope tying the package together to create a luxurious communication piece.

A short film co-directed with Nicolo Bianchino for Sydney leather accessories label Virr. This fashion film screened as part of the No Home fashion Festival in Melbourne 2011.

Website design for the Art Express exhibition 2011. This project involved designing a flash site that showcased all participating student artists. The design adopted a bolder feel than previous years, putting the student work and names front and center to emphasise their achievement of selection.
